[He'll go ahead and start thinking of recipes he can make...which is why he's distracted as he hangs up.
But when he gets to the designated meeting place at the designated time, he'll...have a couple of plates of things that he decided to make. It took some research, but he thinks he made some decentpicnic-yfoods. Maybe. He's never been on a picnic before but he's trying.
And he'll look all uncertain but he wants to impress mom so...!!]
[ He doesn't have to impress her!! Otome is already there, at least, holding a thermos in one hand and a red-and-white parfait in the other. There's a blanket beneath her feet already (and of course her shoes are neatly laid off to the side). ]
[Leon nods at that, taking his place delicately on the blanket, though he doesn't remove his shoes--he just keeps his feet and thus his shoes off of the blanket.
And then he places the plates with the dishes he made on the blanket carefully.]
Very well then.
[A beat, as he takes off the wrap covering the food.]
... I am not particularly familiar with foods eaten at a picnic, but perhaps this will do, if nothing else.
[... oh...... mom brought him a parfait... this delights him, even if he tries to quickly clamp down on that so he doesn't look too pleased by it.]
...Ah, well. I suppose that will do for dessert, for those who enjoy that sort of thing. [ie...him....... it's for him.] For now, eat whatever you would like.
[It's too ingrained in him to deny his love of sweets...
But he'll take the cup of tea, sipping it contentedly. This is good.... mom brought the right kind of tea, and he seems satisfied with that. He'll get to eating too in a moment, but he wants to make sure she enjoys it first.]
[Aaaah... every time his cooking is praised by Otome, he has to fight the urge to preen. This time, his lips do quirk into the vaguest of smiles before he catches himself, coughing and looking away.
A-ahem...]
...Good. I suppose it is passable then.
[...... .As for Otome--]
Have you not eaten today? You seem especially ravenous.
... Hm. [He frowns to himself a little at that, before he just huffs vaguely, taking one of the sandwiches for himself.] Then take the rest of this with you when you go.
If nothing else, it should be easy enough to carry along with you when you are called.

[...You.
Wait.]
What?
[WHAT...]
no subject
[ UNFAZED. ]
I thought it'd be nice to have a meal outside instead of around a table.
no subject
Why.]
There's no need for that. It isn't as though sitting outside would change anything.
no subject
[ Trust her, she's a doctor. ]
no subject
... Is it really of that much importance to you to stimulate your appetite? [Obviously he is not assuming she's doing this for him in any way.]
no subject
[ Leon... ]
no subject
[Words Leon will never use: "Picnic".]
I suppose I could prepare something easy to eat and carry.
no subject
But then you can leave the drinks to me. What sort of tea do you like?
no subject
... Black tea, if you will.
[He'll go ahead and start thinking of recipes he can make...which is why he's distracted as he hangs up.
But when he gets to the designated meeting place at the designated time, he'll...have a couple of plates of things that he decided to make. It took some research, but he thinks he made some decent picnic-y foods. Maybe. He's never been on a picnic before but he's trying.
And he'll look all uncertain but he wants to impress mom so...!!]

The tea should still be plenty warm!
no subject
And then he places the plates with the dishes he made on the blanket carefully.]
Very well then.
[A beat, as he takes off the wrap covering the food.]
... I am not particularly familiar with foods eaten at a picnic, but perhaps this will do, if nothing else.
[IT'S OKAYISH.]
no subject
[ It all looks really fancy... ]
no subject
Not so deep down, he's really pleased, but he just tries to cover it up by clearing his throat.]
Yes, well... it is not as though something like this was any trouble for me, so do not be mistaken on that count.
no subject
[ Not a lie. ]
no subject
It's nice, admittedly, to hear that sort of praise. That is why he worked so hard on making this happen, after all.
He wanted to impress her, and...so he's glad.]
Yes, well, I simply felt as though I should make a proper meal, as ever, regardless of where it is eaten.
no subject
[ She tried!! ]
no subject
...Ah, well. I suppose that will do for dessert, for those who enjoy that sort of thing. [ie...him....... it's for him.] For now, eat whatever you would like.
[He left some at home for Stahn already.]
no subject
I will, thank you! [ Because these sandwiches are so pretty... so she'll take one after pouring Leon a cup of tea. ]
no subject
But he'll take the cup of tea, sipping it contentedly. This is good.... mom brought the right kind of tea, and he seems satisfied with that. He'll get to eating too in a moment, but he wants to make sure she enjoys it first.]
no subject
Mm... this has such a good flavor!
no subject
A-ahem...]
...Good. I suppose it is passable then.
[...... .As for Otome--]
Have you not eaten today? You seem especially ravenous.
no subject
I haven't, no... I got a call before I had breakfast, and then by the time I'd finished with that, it was already well past the time for that.
no subject
... Hm. [He frowns to himself a little at that, before he just huffs vaguely, taking one of the sandwiches for himself.] Then take the rest of this with you when you go.
If nothing else, it should be easy enough to carry along with you when you are called.
[EAT FOOD, MOM]
no subject
[ He did kind of make a lot?? ]
no subject
[Hmph!!!]
It is not as though I need it, so just keep it to make use of it yourself later.
