Admittedly, he...doesn't really resist that much when she shoves him forward and through the door. Token resistance aside, he actually kind of really wants to go in, so.
In they gooooo.
Holy smokes this place is crazy, for a moment he's so lost that he just stands in place.]
That's actually perfect! You see, there was a teenage boy who helped me out the other day, and I was thinking that something sweet might make for a good thank-you gift. Would you be willing to offer your opinion, Leon?
[Ah.... well. She's so polite about it. And it's true that he's a teenage boy, so he may be able to help....... And she's asking for his opinion, which isn't necessarily a bad thing...]
Very well then. As I am already here, I suppose I can help.
[Chaltier is laughing under his breath, which is why Leon shoots his sword a sharp, dirty look suddenly before focusing right back on the candy. Ahem.]
I appreciate it. [ She's probably laughing inwardly, too. ] For starters, do you think I should go for something chocolate, or more... hm, fruit-flavored?
Excuse me--! [ Calling out to the clerk, then. ] Can I get a few samples of... let's see, the mint and mocha truffles, and the double chocolate? And... hm, anything else, Leon?
[ Soon enough, they're being given a handful of little pieces of truffles, which Otome is mostly handing over to Leon. To test his opinion, of course. ]
[He's getting the sneaking suspicion that this has been far, far too easy... like he should be waiting for the other shoe to drop.
But it doesn't.
So he'll go ahead and try the other flavors too.
He does wrinkle his nose a bit at the mocha flavor before he can stop himself; the bitterness of the coffee is a sharp contrast to the sweet that he'd been indulging in before, and as much as he tries to pretend to be an adult, he doesn't like coffee. It's bitter--he drinks tea.
But he straightens out his face as quickly as possible.]
These all seem to be fine as well. [Mint was interesting. Double chocolate was good. He appreciates all of this (except the mocha).] Any of them would be an acceptable gift for someone who enjoys sweets.

[Clear...ly...!! He was in no way standing outside of it because he wanted what was inside. That would be logical.]
I don't like sweets.
[That's just a lie. Somehow, though, he's extra embarrassed that it's someone like Otome who found him in this situation.]

[ Be honest with yourself at last, Leon. ]
no subject
That's--
[He looks back at that display when she mentions it, and grimaces. It looks...really good.... look at all of those sweets...!!!]
--Don't be ridiculous. I was just passing by.
[... and wasn't transfixed in one place, yeah, okay.]

[ IT'S ALL SO COLORFUL... ]
no subject
...Yes, well... if you insist on looking at this place, then... I suppose that's fine.
[Wow Leon when did it become Otome's idea to look at candy? (Because then he can pretend it's not him who wants it.)]

[ SMILE SMILE SMILE. ]

... I suppose if it was necessary to choose between the two, chocolate would be the superior choice.
[...]
Not that I'm particularly fond of either. [you are full of shit]

[ And luckily, there's AN ENTIRE WALL dedicated to chocolate. Nice and safe in a display case, too. ]
Truffles might be a good idea... the cream filling's always different, too.

For a moment, Leon's just kind of engrossed in reading all of the flavors, forgive him.
This is fascinating. And amazing.
And in a lot of ways, he's still a kid.]

Seems legit.]
... I suppose that would be the only way to know, if you are not familiar with the flavors either.
[yes please let him have some of the candy. He's going to just...try not to look as eager about this as he feels.]

[ Work with her, you're doing beautifully. ]

Honey vanilla?
[That sounds FULL OF CAVITIES AND SWEET.]

Wow... when was the last time he just sat and had some chocolate? He really can't remember, but this all seems pretty..fantastic...
It doesn't strike him that he's being too eager until after he's put a piece in his mouth. Chew. Swallow.]
... I... [It's delicious.] ... suppose it's acceptable. If you enjoy things like this.
[can he eat the rest..... he's hesitating for a moment. Should he eat the rest...]

[ Go on, Leon, she won't stop you. ]

Mm, that settles it! I think I'll take two boxes of assorted truffles, then-- and two of the honey vanilla ones.
no subject
Okay, no, he's got nothing to do with any of this, so he's going to just curiously inspect the other truffles while Otome does her thing.]
no subject
And here you are! As thanks for your help.
no subject
The silence extends for almost an uncomfortable period of time as he tries to just... process this.]
...What?
[Eloquence!!
But he really does want it. It was delicious, and... well, it's a gift, isn't it? (when has he last gotten a gift? Without ulterior motives?)]
What are you doing? [Why are you giving this to him?]
